There are a lot of questions about the future of Chrysler, especially after the announcement to close almost 700 dealerships nationwide. Here are some facts that should set your mind at ease: 1. Chrysler did file Chapter 11 section 363 bankruptcy, but this is not a bad thing! Filing under this section allows for a leaner new company to emerge as quickly as 30 to 60 days. The new company, which will be partly owned by Fiat, will be able to better serve its customers with broader and more competitive lines of environmentally friendly, fuel-efficient high-quality vehicles.
2. Fair Oaks Chrysler Jeep remains open (and excited) for business! We are a Five Star Elite Dealer and will move forward with the new company. We have been in business since 1982 and remain strong in the market. Our doors are open to our current customers and we will offer the same Five Star service to anyone whose dealership will not remain open. 3. If you have a Chrysler Warranty, it is still valid. Chrysler has stated that it will continue to honor all its warranties in effect. Additionally, the US Government is backing any warranty on a retail purchase made between March 30, 2009 and June 30, 2009. If your service contract was purchased through a third party service, then you should contact them directly with any questions. However, most reputable companies will pay claims at competitive rates and will honor their contracts regardless of the servicing dealer.
4. Parts for any vehicles that are discontinued through the reorganization will still be available. There is no difference between a vehicle being discontinued by manufacturer’s choice (i.e. the Dodge Neon was discontinued in 2006) or through the reorganization. 5. Chrysler will still offer competitive incentives for new vehicle purchases. They are certain that this is the best time to buy a new vehicle and they are willing to offer incentives, especially to current owners, to prove it. Visit us today for details!
